Christmas Came to Kibaale Today

With the end of term 3 in Kibaale comes the time to hand out Christmas gifts to students before they leave for their 2 month break. This year, every student in Kibaale will be given a Christmas gift thanks to some generous special gift donations! Today we headed out to Kibaale to help with the organizing and distributing of a whole lot of gift baskets.

We also purchased gifts for our own sponsor kids, Vicent and Christine, and visited both of their homes to install a gutter and deliver water collection tanks and jerry cans! Paul and I have been excited about these gifts for awhile now, because we knew both of these students have to walk quite far to fetch water every day - the water collection tanks will eliminate the need to walk so far and so often.

First stop was Nakalaalo Christine's house!

Janice fell in love with Christine's rabbit!

After we installed the water collector, we took the jerry cans down to the lake to fill up and bring back to the container.

Truly Ugandan!

First few trickles of water - it worked!

Second stop, Kasibante Vicent's house!

I CAN'T get over Vicent's smile - so beautiful!

Mangoes fresh off the tree

Merry Christmas!

  1. What a wonderful opportunity to be able to help them with something so essential and see the smile on their faces! Janice looks so happy being "Truly Ugandan". God Bless you!
