Being away from home during the olympics isn't easy. To know that we're missing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate our country right in our home city makes us wish we could fly back, even just for a few days! However, there are two things that console us and keep us from hopping on the next flight:
1. Ten Tables (a restaurant in Masaka) has a projector and shows olympic highlights for an hour a day. We get up in the morning, see if Canada won any medals the previous day, and then decide whether or not to hit up Ten Tables for some olympic action (and soda and chips).
2. Things are happening at the Timothy Centre, which reminds us why we're here and why we were willing to leave Vancouver in the first place (Olympics or not!)

Since we moved in, we've been climbing up a steep ramp to get from the car to our house (you can see the top of it behind the vehicles) - finally the retaining wall is being completed, and we'll have a staircase!
When it comes down to it, it's pretty exciting to be part of this project and see changes from day to day. And as for the Olympics, we'll live vicariously through all our friends who are experiencing it firsthand at home.
