When we came to Uganda last summer, we made a commitment to be here for one year. Committing to longer than that seemed daunting, but we were open to extending our time here depending on how this first year went. Last week our director from Canada came to visit and check up on progress, and while he was here we decided that we will extend our stay until February, 2011, which is when the Timothy Girls' College is scheduled to open.
We're excited that we'll be able to see the school in operation, and be involved in getting things ready for the opening. Being here longer will allow for continuity on the site, more opportunities to get involved in our church and community, and the chance to build stronger relationships with more people.
We are planning a 6-week visit home in the summer (as two of our closest friends are getting married!), and we are also looking forward to several visits from family members, friends, and our missions pastor! Thanks for praying for us as we try to follow God's direction. We're excited to see what the next year has in store!
