Last week we spent 5 amazing days at the Fairmont in Zanzibar to celebrate our first anniversary! Those of you that don't know where Zanzibar is...it's an island off the coast of Tanzania. Very tropical, very sunny, very beautiful. The perfect place to take a vacation (if you live in Uganda - otherwise it would be a loooong flight).
Our days there consisted of sitting by the pool, walking on the beach, swimming, eating in the delicious beachfront restaurant (where we were particularly excited about feta cheese, pesto sauce, and red snapper), reading, napping, playing cards - and many other strenuous activities.
Aside from a sunburn on the first day, the trip was perfect. Future anniversaries have a lot to live up to!
We returned to Uganda just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving with our Masaka coworkers. I take zero credit for the homemade passionfruit juice, roasted chickens, buns, vegetables, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie from scratch, beautiful table setting, etc. that Arleen and Lizabee created! But we sure did enjoy it. This year we have so much to be thankful for!
