Ugandan hospitals are often short on blood, especially during malaria season when so many patients need clean blood. After hearing that several team members from the group we had in December donated blood, Angela and Allison decided they wanted to do the same. Despite a bit of nervousness at the beginning, they were feeling pretty good when it was done (especially thanks to a free soda!) It was a great, practical way to help where it was needed. I played the photographer role, but I guess next time it's my turn, no excuses. *Gulp.*
And to all the worried mothers of team members that are reading this, don't worry...the needles are CLEAN!
