Yesterday we spent a busy day in Kibaale as a whole bunch of things were going on. There was a team of 8 visiting from Canada, a mud hut being built, television interviews taking place, home visits, and special gift distribution.
We joined in on the mud hut experience...

This is the house that previously existed on the property where the new house is now being built - it was old and rundown...definitely time for something new!
The soon-to-be inhabitant of this new house - such a beautiful woman!

A P5 (grade 5) class and the special needs class from Kibaale came along to help with the mud hut as a community outreach project. It's amazing that the "poorest of the poor" are able to serve their own community!
Mud hutting is FUN!
Back at Kibaale Community Centre, special gifts were being handed out to students...this secondary student was pretty excited about her new goat!
Later on in the afternoon we joined some of the Canadian visitors on home visits to meet their sponsor kids and deliver special gifts. One of the things I love about home visits is when all the neighbourhood kids come running over to see what's happening and what the mzungus are doing! These are some of my favourite photos of the children we saw yesterday...
